About Musuhi

iCloud Photos is convenient, but as your library grows, managing storage can quietly become a burden. Musuhi is a simple way to copy the precious photos and videos in the photo library on your Mac to an external HDD or SSD you keep close at hand.

For photos and videos stored in iCloud but not yet downloaded to your Mac, Musuhi retrieves the originals from your own iCloud account and saves them. You can back up using Bulk Backup or Select & Save.

Designed for peace of mind

Your photos stay in your hands

Never deletes

Your originals are never removed from your photo library.

Never modifies

Originals are never edited or altered. The only change to your library is adding items to management albums.

Never uploads to the cloud

Your photos, videos, and personal data are never sent to our servers or any third party.

You choose the destination

Files are copied only to the destination folder you select. No other location is accessed.

  • Backup Destination Any folder you choose — an external HDD, SSD, or a folder on your Mac
  • Drive Format For a backup destination used only with your Mac, APFS format is recommended
  • Connection For large libraries, a fast local connection is recommended for the best experience

Before You Begin

  • Check that your destination has enough free space before starting a backup.
